DECEMBER 2019

• Allie filmed The Support Group, a comedy pilot featuring (fictional) Instagram influencers trying to cope with their disastrous lives. Allie plays Aubrey, a strange, reclusive young woman who would rather record ASMR than interact with other people.

• An excerpt of Low Light (written by Allie Costa, directed by Donna Wheeler) was presented at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood during an afternoon of readings organized by the LAFPI.

NOVEMBER 2019

• Allie booked and filmed the lead role in the movie Wayne. She plays a grief-stricken lawyer who tries to assist someone in need.

• Allie booked and filmed the lead role in the psychological thriller Red Affinity. She plays a painter who finds the strength to stand up to her abuser.

• Allie booked and filmed Yes/No, an interactive film. She plays a spontaneous, fun-loving character who stumbles upon a house occupied by people undergoing smartphone addiction therapy. Like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, viewers will be able to make choices that affect the narrative as the story progresses.

• Allie booked and filmed the comedy Ice Cream Truck. She plays a bubbly, outgoing millennial hipster.

• Allie played a heart transplant surgeon in the film Guardian Demon.

You Me & Her aired on TV again. Allie plays the younger version of the lead character in this award-winning comedic sci-fi film written and directed by Sarah Doyle. When thirty versions of one person are zapped through the wormhole at the US Department of Parallel Resettlement, an unhappy girl named Anna (Shannon Woodward, Westworld, Raising Hope) finds out she is the worst possible version of herself, inspiring her to change her ways at the expense of destroying the universe.

Two Girls had two staged readings in Dallas, first at Burning Woman, held at The Wild Detectives, then at Bath House Cultural Center. Two Girls deals with the aftermath of sexual assault. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Kateri Cale, featuring Angela Davis, Jeliannys Acevedo Cuadrado, Whitney LaTrice Coulter, Alle Malia Mims, and Elly Lindsay, produced by Echo Theatre for Hear Me.

California Here We Come and Boxes Are Magic were both selected for The Thalia Festival, held in New York. These lively dramedies were written by Allie Costa and directed by Denise Ivanoff. California Here We Come featured Aiden Ankli as Catalina and Allie Scott as Mila. Boxes Are Magic featured Sarah Reed as Yasmine and Chrystle Ntow as Cali.

A Taste of the Future was selected for Paragon, the world's largest science fiction and fantasy play festival. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Daniel Lancaster, featuring Analisha Santini and Nick Castellanos, produced by Otherworld Theatre Company in Chicago.

OCTOBER 2019

• Allie booked and filmed the movie Z47. She plays a no-nonsense reporter who seems unafraid of the impending zombie apocalypse.

Human Resources was screened at the Salem Horror Fest. In the film, Allie plays an extremely self-assured nurse employed by a sadistic doctor at a horrifying hospital.

Boxes Are Magic was on The Ten Show, a new streaming series celebrating the entire process of producing a play, culminating in a performance in front of a live audience, which is also streamed online. Written by Allie Costa, Boxes Are Magic is a dramedy about family, cats, and climate change. Produced and directed by Hannah Nimer, with Micki Cottam as Yasmine and Amanda Anne Dayton as Cali. It placed first in online votes and second in studio audience votes. The Ten Show is produced by The Hive Collaborative.

Safe Distance was selected for the Fever Dream Festival and had a staged reading at Benchmark Theatre in Colorado. The story takes place late one night on the London Underground. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Lauren Bahlman, featuring Abid Hassan and Jenna Moll Reyes.

Safe Distance also had a staged reading in Los Angeles directed by Allie Costa, featuring Andrew Landecker and Allie Costa.

Don't Fear the Reaper was selected for PlayGround-LA and had a staged reading at The Broadwater in Hollywood. This spirited tale of two unlikely friends written by Allie Costa featured Tiana Randall-Quant and Carolyn Deskin directed by Frieda de Lackner.

• Allie played the feisty daughter in a staged reading of the comedy Backing Out.

Who She Could Have Been was a semi-finalist for Here We Go.

SEPTEMBER 2019

The Bully Problem original cast recording is in post-production.

Boléro was a finalist for the Student Academy Awards. It was also screened at Fantastic Fest and the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. Allie did voiceover work for the film.

Do I Know You? had its world premiere at the IMPACT International Theatre Festival in Ontario, Canada as part of the site-specific project Asphalt Jungle Shorts. This fun romantic comedy was written by Allie Costa, directed by Paddy Gillard-Bentley, and produced by Flush Ink, featuring Emily K. Bolyea-Kyere and Robin Bennett.

• Allie's acclaimed play Two Girls was published in an anthology which had its official launch at Bluestockings in New York City. Pieces from the anthology were presented as readings. Two Girls was performed by Alinca Hamilton and Cassandra Nwokah.

Boxes Are Magic was a semi-finalist for Pick of the Vine 2020.

AUGUST 2019

• Allie played Margaret, a sweet young scientist, in the critically-acclaimed new musical The Bully Problem. Learn more!

• Allie played the lead in a concert reading of Pickpocket. In turn-of-the-century Manhattan, a pickpocket finds an opportunity to reform herself through her love of performing vaudeville.

• Allie performed songs from The Bully Problem and Pickpocket in the Got Musical concert.

Human Resources was screened at the West Europe International Film Festival in Brussels. In the film, Allie plays an extremely self-assured nurse employed by a sadistic doctor at a horrifying hospital.

Boléro was screened at the Telluride Film Festival and Holly Shorts. Allie did voiceover work for the film.

Heterotopias, an interactive VR experience Allie narrated, was part of SIGGRAPH, which ran through August 1st in Los Angeles.

Boxes Are Magic was produced at BoxFest Detroit. In this heartfelt comedy, a woman must simultaneously contend with an unstoppable force and an immovable object. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Kryssy Becker, featuring Maya Gangadharan as Yasmine and Tiaja Sabrie as Cali. The festival was held at Planet Ant.

Low Tide had its world premiere at the Open Space Arts Summer Playwrights Festival in Maryland. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Jessica Horn with assistant director Christopher Horn, Low Tide details the trials and tribulations of a landlocked mermaid.

Faking Glory was nominated for the Bartell Theatre Awards for Best Script (Allie Costa) and Best Director (Betty Diamond).

• Allie's script Don't Shoot the Messenger Pigeon was a finalist for the 2019 TENS Play Festival.

JULY 2019

• Allie booked a recurring role on the podcast Rodriguez and Son. She plays Ms. Macy, a (mostly) by-the-book parole officer, in addition to other roles. The first three episodes were recorded in July.

• Allie played Holly, a wide-eyed singer working at a radio station in 1947, in a special presentation of It's a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play at Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton.

The Bully Problem cast album began recording in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for its release!

Human Resources was screened at the New York Mobile Film Festival.

Heterotopias, an interactive VR experience Allie narrated, was selected for SIGGRAPH. The immersive event was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

JUNE 2019

The Bully Problem had a sold-out run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Allie plays Margaret, a sweet and intellectual young scientist, in this critically-acclaimed new musical. Learn more!

• Allie performed with the cast of The Bully Problem at Fringe Cabaret in Hollywood.

• Allie performed with the cast of The Bully Problem at Musicals & Mimosas Cabaret at Three Clubs in Hollywood.

• Allie played Brim, an odd, stoic goth girl, in a reading of the movie musical Mudged.

Heterotopias, an interactive virtual reality experience Allie narrated, was shown at FEMMEBIT in Los Angeles and ISEA in Seoul.

Boléro was screened at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Allie did voiceover work for the film.

Two Girls was produced at Actors Theatre Playhouse in New Hampshire. In this haunting and poetic duologue, two women emerge from a violent attack. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Wendy Almeida.

A Taste of the Future was performed at Phoenix Arts Club in London's West End. This time-travel dramedy was written by Allie Costa, directed by Jack Silver, produced by Caspa Arts, and featured Mia Kelly and Antonio Ayuso.

Faking Glory was produced at The Bartell in Wisconsin in StageQ's Spirit of Stonewall series. Written by Allie Costa and directed by Betty Diamond, it featured Brandon Germany as Carlos, a high school senior nominated for Homecoming Queen as a prank, and Kaia Kalise as his best friend Marija, who's going through an identity crisis of her own.

With This Ring - written by Allie Costa, featuring Ally Callaghan - had its world premiere at Gi60 in New York.

Heatwave, Someone, Not Just Anyone, and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da premiered at Gi60 #NextGen in New York.

In the Heist and Failure to Communicate were both selected for Night of 1,000 Plays at Haddonfield Players in New Jersey. Failure to Communicate, a comedy about customer (dis)service, was written by Allie Costa, directed by Alex Hawthorne, and featured Melynda Morrone, Bobby Kramer, and Brynne Gaffney. In the Heist, an imaginative caper about a robbery gone wrong, was written by Allie Costa, directed by Nicole DeRosa Lukaitis, and featured Lili Myers, Ricky Conway, Brynne Gaffney, and Pat DeFusco.

Human Resources won Best Thriller at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, Best Mobile Short at the IndieX Film Fest, and Best Short Horror Film and Best Smartphone Film at the Los Angeles Motion Picture Festival.

MAY 2019

• Allie's episode of the streaming comedy series This WebSeries aired. She plays Luna, a wide-eyed cult member whose desire to follow the rules overrides her sense of self-preservation.

Low Light had its world premiere at The Robin Theatre in Michigan. Written by Allie Costa, Low Light offers a flicker of hope in a setting not far from our current reality. Produced by Ixion Theatre Ensemble, directed by Rose Jangmi Cooper, featuring Muthu Jayatissa and Lekeathon Wilson.

Who She Could Have Been was produced at Eden Prairie Players in Minnesota. A couple struggles to rebuild and reconnect after losing their child. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Elizabeth Michaelson, featuring Chris Maresca and Jenny Robinson.

Two Girls will be produced at Echo Theatre this fall alongside other winners of The Big Shout Out. Stay tuned.

APRIL 2019

• Allie performed with the cast of The Bully Problem at MUSI-CAL, a concert produced by the Foundation for New American Musicals, held at Rockwell Table & Stage.

Human Resources was screened at the Pittsburgh Horror Film Festival.

Music of the Mind was selected for the You Are Not Alone Festival and made its New York debut at The Tank. Afraid she is going mad, a young woman escapes from her birthday party to find solace. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Dori Levit and assistant director Sydney Wilson, featuring Emily DeSotelle and Alexander Chilton.

Two Girls had a reading at The People's Forum in New York, part of an afternoon of works produced by Words of Choice. In this haunting and poetic duologue, two women (Alinca Hamilton and Donna Jean Fogel) emerge from a violent attack. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Francesca Mantani Arkus.

Two Girls was taught in a writing course at West Chester University in Pennsylvania, culminating in a performance featuring Olivia Quinones and Julie Dougherty.

Can You Keep a Secret? was presented at Things Not Said in San Diego. Logline: In the not-too-distant future, peace of mind comes at a price. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Justin Sun, featuring Ashley Chen, Alex Jiang, and Amelia Wang.

Heartsong wrapped its premiere production in Texas. Written by Allie Costa and inspired by the life and music of Sara Bareilles, Heartsong featured Savannah Jones, Sarah Perkins, and Brooklyn Downs, directed by Andrew Bryan, at the 365 Women a Year Festival, produced by Rover Dramawerks.

MARCH 2019

My Big Fat Blonde Musical wrapped its first season. Allie has a recurring role as Allegra on this new comedy series.

Human Resources was screened at the LA Short Scares Film Fest and the Oxford International Short Film Festival. Allie plays a devious nurse in the film.

Drop in the Ocean had its West Coast premiere at the Hudson Theatres in Hollywood. On a drying-up shoreline, a down-to-earth botanist (Kelley Mack) encounters a vibrant climatologist (John Patrick Daly) and realizes there may still be hope for the world. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Reena Dutt. Produced by 2Cents Theatre Group for INK Fest.

Mindstream had its world premiere at the Hudson Theatres in Hollywood. At a cutting-edge neuroscience center, a fascinating new procedure may help people retain their memories. But at what cost? Written by Allie Costa, directed by Sophie Goldstein, featuring Nira Torres, Grace Serrano, Kevin Herrmann, and Daphne Gabriel. Produced by 2Cents Theatre Group for INK Fest.

Heartsong had its world premiere at the 365 Women a Year Festival at Rover Dramawerks in Texas. Heartsong was written by Allie Costa and inspired by the life and music of Sara Bareilles. Featuring Savannah Jones as Sara Bareilles, Sarah Perkins as Twenties Sara, and Brooklyn Downs as 13-year-old Sara, directed by Andrew Bryan.

Phantom Pains was in the Fast & Furious Festival at Spokane Stage Left. Allie wrote the piece and debuted it at Samuel French. Watch it now!

Still She Lies Dormant and Boxes Are Magic were both selected for Play Club West's SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day and had readings in Hollywood. Boxes Are Magic is Allie's acclaimed dramedy about a woman and a cat stuck in a sticky situation. The reading featured Jaime Soria and Azo Safo. Still She Lies Dormant is a modern-day magic-free retelling of Sleeping Beauty: When the unthinkable happens, the relatives of a comatose young woman must make a life-altering choice for their loved one. The reading featured Lisa Miller, Teresa Waxer, Emily Donn, and Christy Bell.

Wolves Change Rivers, written by Allie Costa, was selected for the Planet Earth Arts New Play Festival and had a staged reading at The Broadwater in Hollywood. The reading was directed by Paris McCarthy, produced by PlayGround-LA, and featured Tahmus Rounds, Valentina Guerra, and Grace Paratore.

Little Swan, a Pas de Deux and A Moment of Silence were both selected for the Best of HERSTORY Festival and had readings in New Haven. Little Swan is based on the life of prima ballerina Anna Pavlova, while A Moment of Silence was inspired by Leelah Alcorn. Both pieces were written by Allie Costa. Little Swan featured Kaylee Osborne and Moira Malone, who also directed it. The festival was produced by NOplays.

Low Light had a reading at Ixion Theatre featuring Amelia M. Rogocka and Lekeathon Wilson directed by Rose Jangmi Cooper. Written by Allie Costa, Low Light was one of eight plays selected for Ixion's Festival of Hope and will have its world premiere production there this May.

FEBRUARY 2019

Low Tide was named a Little Black Dress INK finalist. Performance dates and details to come. Written by Allie Costa, Low Tide details the trials and tribulations of a landlocked mermaid.

Tofurkey Day was featured on the Olde Tyme Radio Hour, performed by the Hercules Radio Players. Written by Allie Costa, this multi-generational comedy is always in season.

Human Resources was screened at the London International Filmmaker Festival and the Lost Sanity Festival.

JANUARY 2019

• Allie filmed another episode of My Big Fat Blonde Musical. She has a recurring role as a bubbly barista named Allegra.

Two Girls, fresh from its Off-Broadway run, had a special one-night-only reading in New Jersey. Part of an afternoon of new works produced by Words of Choice, the reading featured Alinca Hamilton and Donna Jean Fogel, directed by Francesca Mantani Arkus.

Human Resources was a finalist for The Lift-Off Sessions and streamed online. In the film, Allie plays an extremely self-assured nurse employed by a sadistic doctor at a horrifying hospital.

Two Girls had a successful Off-Broadway run. In this haunting and poetic duologue, two women emerge from a violent attack. Written by Allie Costa, directed by Karen Carpenter (Love, Loss, and What I Wore), starring Faith Taylor and Clara Tristan, produced by The #metoo Plays.
